Smiling all the Way From A to Z -- S

The letter S may be my favorite smile of them all for this challenge--Ok, just kidding, it's not but it is up there in the numbers.

SLEEPING IN

I have to get up relatively early (for me, that is) Monday - Friday (who doesn't though), so come Saturday and Sunday, I milk sleep for all it's worth. On Friday evening, I smile for the fact that I can turn off my alarm clock and sleep in until whenever, not just for one day but two. Hot Dog! I've been known to sleep in until 11AM sometimes. Yes, total waste of time, but ever so nice. Although, I do have obligations on Sunday mornings on occasion, but I still can still catch a few more winks than I do on weekdays.

I had a room mate that couldn't sleep past 6AM. I would die if my body said, "Ok, it's time to get up, Julia." And then sleep flooded away like a rushing river. Since I was a kid, I have just needed sleep. I was definitely not one of those crack of dawn type of kids. I let the 'rents sleep in. So nice of me, huh?

The funny thing is I am neither a morning person nor a night person. I just like sleep. :)

Well, my smiles are tipped off to sleep!

Do you like sleeping in? Are you a morning person, night person, or neither of them like me? What is the latest you've ever slept in? And starting with the letter S, what makes you smile?

PS: Refer to the blurb on the very top of my blogs sidebar to know why I am posting about what makes me smile. Go forward and smile!

  1. I've never been a morning person so I enjoy my Saturdays. Of course, I'm to the point I'm not a night owl anymore either. I just like sleep!

  4. I'm a total night owl....I can stay up until 3-4am if I can. The S word that makes me smile? Snickers....love them :)

  5. Sleeping in is one of the best things ever. Sadly it's a very rare occurrence around here with kids and, well, life. I think I' die too if my body made me wake up early every morning- yikes.

  7. I love sleeping in too. Although I'm not as good at it as I used to be. Nowadays, I can't make it past 8:00.

  8. Ah, sleeping in. I don't ever really get to do that since I had kids. :(

  9. I'm definitely not a morning person. The few times I've tried have always required afternoon naps. I used to be a night person, now I'm a middle of the day person.

  10. I am definitely a night owl. I like staying up when everyone else in the house has gone to bed. There is no television or radio playing, no neighbors mowing or weed eating outside, very little traffic, no phone ringing off the hood....it is just peaceful and quiet. That is when I get my best writing done and that definitely makes me smile!

  11. I'm afraid I'm one of those people that can't sleep in. Seven thirty is generally my limit at sleeping in. But as I usually get up between five and five thirty on weekdays seven thirty is heaven.

  12. I get up early (around 5:30 during the week, 7 on weekends) and stay up late. I love my sleep, but I think I love my "me time" more. I have to have it!

  13. Greetings human, Julia,

Yes, it's me, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar from the non-conformist Z to A, alphabet challenge :)

Speaking of sleeping in, my human is sleeping in and it has been left up to me to comment. Of course, being a dog, I'm not into time. And my human seems to be in every time zone but his own.

ZZZZZZZZZZ....huh, where am I? Oh yeah, happy alphabeting and keep smiling :)

    Pawsitive wishes,

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!

  14. I used to be a morning person, but now I'm a night person, sort of. I had a huge health challenge a few years ago, and that has permanently messed up my circadian rhythms. Today, I was awake from 4:00 to 7:00, and finally got up at 11:00. Yup, messed up rhythm. I would like to get back to something more normal, but I don't expect it to happen, no matter how hard I try.

Yeah, I like my sleep, too

    Blessings and Bear hugs!
