Now, I've gotta be brave and let her go, at least her name. I'll for sure let the pretty princess go on submission sometime this year, though. *crossing fingers*
Until then, all you get is the name of my book...
*drum roll please*
BOUND
Yes, a simple one-syllable name with more meaning than meets the eye when it's placed in the context of what my WIP is about. I have the other names of the books in the trilogy picked out already. You'll find them out later. I can't wait to write those books, that's for sure.
How do you go about releasing the name of your book? Right off the bat? Wait for a while? Or not tell anyone until it's actually published? Do tell...
Writing. Jewels.
That just happens to be one of my fave words ;)
ReplyDeleteI pretty much start calling my WIPs by their titles the moment I'm settled on one. Keeps everything nice and organized from my end.
Glad I've named my book one of your fav words. :D Nice.
DeleteI am finishing revisions on my WIP, aiming to submit this summer, and I STILL do not have a name!!! :( Everything I come up with sounds so cheesy.
ReplyDeleteI understand having probs naming books. For my WIP, the name came easily. But my first book was a long list of names that just didn't work. I came up with one but had to change it to what it is now. Long story... But, who knows what publishers will do. hehe You'll find a name.
DeleteGreat title, Julia! Oh, and I've added you to my Authors list on my blog: http://jackflacco.blogspot.com/2012/03/love-of-my-life.html :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have any problem sharing a title, once I come up with one. But that step usually takes me awhile. I'm excited to start writing my next novel, but it'll still be awhile out.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've got inspiration for your novel. You are supercool. You can do it. One thing at a time though.
DeleteI've never made a big deal of it. Party because I'm terrible at titles and I try a few out before setteling on one so I don't want to have a big reveal and then later a big change. Partly because I know the publisher may want to change it alter so I try not to get too attached to it.
ReplyDeleteYep, I scared a pub will change the name of my books but hey, if it gets me pub'd then its all worth it in the end. haha
DeleteThat's a great title. And I've never made a big deal about it either, really. I just post it when I talk about it, I guess! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah. It gets old saying my work in progress... haha And thanks for liking my title. :D
DeleteNice title!
ReplyDeleteI posted the title of my first book on my blog, but didn't make a big fuss over it. I haven't shared any other real details though, and probably won't anytime soon.
Yep, I don't talk too much about what I'm writing. I like secrets, I guess. haha But now I can call it by name. Woot!
DeleteI'm still loving that name along with the others! They fit your books perfectly in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI have the title pretty much picked out before I begin to write it. I may tweak it, but it's almost the same. You know me. I keep things hidden up until I can't anymore. I think you knew about the title switch before even my hubby though. I can't wait for Bound to be out on submission! It's a truly amazing book and I know others will love it as much as I do!! Keep up the great work, Jules!!
I remember you wondering if you should tell what your book is called to the world. It's tough to let the baby go into the world.
DeleteThanks for your vote of confidence in my book. You rock!
I love the title! It definitely makes me curious about what the story is going to be about. I usually find it pretty easy to think up a title, but not always. I'm actually quite happy with my current WIP title, "Nameless". One word titles, represent! :)
ReplyDeleteTitles are tough. It has to be right, perfect. I love the name of your WIP. Awesome. Makes me eager to read it. :D
DeleteI like it! One word titles can be very intriguing. I like to title my project early, but sometimes it can change. The one I'm working on now was easy-peasy to come up with. The title is pretty much the story. And yes, I have already revealed it, even though the book is 1/4 written - Sharing Hunter.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, Sharing Hunter. Intriguing name. I try to name it early too but it was difficult for my first books.
DeleteAlright Mrs 310 followers! How is it that I haven't been here before? My word! I'm so glad I am now though and it was awesome to meet you last night!
ReplyDeleteAs for your book title! Fabulous choice! I love it. Such a powerful word and title! :)
I've been working for 2+ years to get that many followers. Who knows how many of them actually visit. *shakes head*. Welcome to my crazy mind. haha Glad you like my title. :D
DeleteLove the title! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks. Great we are on the same wave length with the titles. :D
DeleteHuh, I've never given much thought to keeping the name a secret, LOL. I've always just called it what I call it. :D It's a GREAT title! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Morgs. I love your book's title. Fantastic.
DeleteOh, I can never keep a secret! As soon as I can blurt anything, I do. I want to put up the cover to my third book of my series, but since it's probably a year off I'm restraining my post finger.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the title BOUND, and my thoughts are swirling, imagining what it might be about. What a great title for a series. I can't wait to hear more about it!
I am an open book (haha) when it comes to most things, but book titles I get nervous saying it outloud. What's wrong with me? Nothing....
DeleteI hope to have people read BOUND one day soon. Crossing fingers.

I like simple titles, so BOUND is cool!
ReplyDeleteHmmm... the way I revealed my most recent title was at the end of the book I just published. Other than that, I guess it was revealed on certain blogs during my blog tour.
PS - For the first book I wrote (full length novel), I still haven't "announced" the title!
Thanks. There's gonna be more to the name of my book. Now, I've intrigued you all the more. I'm so mean.
DeleteLove your PS. Can't wait to know what it's called.
Hmmm. I like the simple title. As for me, I never thought about the whole build-up and release of the title for anything I write. Usually I just stick it in a footnote somewhere and don't even know if anyone notices.
ReplyDeleteI should start doing that. I'm silly. Hey, nice to meet you last weekend.
DeleteBOUND. I like it. It's simple and powerful. As for my own titles, I usually release them as soon as I think of the title. Of course, the title can change as I'm working on the manuscript. It's rare when that happens, but it has happened before.
ReplyDeleteSometimes my titles change. But who knows what publishers will do.
DeleteI like your title a lot - simple, but can be interpreted in a lot of different ways even without knowing the premise.
ReplyDeleteI've said this before - I'm rubbish at titles. For my first book, I only came up with one when it came to submitting to agents, but I was never happy with it. If something decent does suggest itself while writing my current WIP, I'll probably be so excited I'll blog about it straight away!
Titles are hard cuz it represents the book as a whole. Ugh! Can't wait to hear what you decide to call your WIP. Sending you inspiration for the title. ------>
DeleteI like it. The title alone makes me curious.
ReplyDeleteSeriously! = )
Now I really want to get this book out there to read! Thanks for liking the title. Hope what's found within its pages is just as good. ;)
