Bono's Birthday Bash

I'm going to show off my U2 fan-dom geekiness right now with a picture...

I want to declare my devotion to U2 and the front man of this awesome-beyond-this-universe-amazing Irish band by saying:

HAPPY  BIRTHDAY BONO!

I hope you've had a lovely day. I sure hope all my followers have had a blast of a Bono's birthday, too!

Cheers and I'm out!

Smiling all the Way From A to Z -- F

I'm glad that the letter F landed on today. Today is a day that comes only once every year. I endlessly smile on this particular day. Why? Because...

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

Yup, I'm one year older and wiser too. I hit the big 31 today! By golly, I love birthdays! So, now you can wish me a Happy Birthday and send me lots of presents and a hot handsome hunk of a hubs. haha No, really.

Anyway, Happy and Birthday obviously don't start with the letter F and don't even have that letter gracing the words. Well, how does the letter F and my birthday relate.

Because the things that start with the letter F always make me smile, especially on my birthday. They are my FAMILY and FRIENDS.

I appreciate them all for their love, support, and putting up with me in all my random, quirky, often times loud, and silly ways. They listen. They love. They are my favorite.

So, my presents haven't appeared out of thin air yet. Come on guys, get with it! haha

I love my dear Dad, Mom, sister, brother-in-law, brother, sister-in-law, three nephews (one on the way), and my princess of a cute niece.

Seriously, guys, where are my presents. *stomps foot*

Well, it's on to you. Starting with the letter F, what makes you smile?

Birthdays: I Love Them

Attention: You must read the bottom paragraph of this post and do as asked! :D

So I'm turning 30 today. 30, really? Man, I feel old. Not really.

My day's party plans: Sleeping in a bit. Going into work late. Dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, my favorite restaurant. And Laser U2. Totally awesome laser light show set to U2 music.

So, I've done so much over these many years. These things have made me super happy. Let me count them.... (Bragging moment--humor me)

Traveled To: 30 U.S. States, Canada twice, England twice, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Taiwan, and China. And more to come.....

Accomplishments: high school and university graduate, served a mission in Taiwan for the church I'm a member of (learned Mandarin Chinese for it), written two books, and bought a car (I own about 3/4 of it now. Woot!).

Fun Things I've Done: Lived abroad a couple times. Have had many employment opportunities. Backpacked the Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, and Zions National Park. Been to 30+ concerts. Seen U2 four times in concert. Seen Bono's house in Ireland (Ok, I'm obsessed with U2). Eaten a lot of weird food. Eaten a lot of great food.

Things I've Learned: To love books and words. To never give up. To take a risk. To smell the flowers. Love, Love, and Love some more (people, places, food, animals, especially dogs, etc).

There are many things I could add to this list, but I can't think of them right now....

*Swiss cheese mind attacks again*

I'm happy with where my life has led me.

Well, I'm going to be super on the give me, give me, give me side. I want to get tons and tons of birthday happy wishes on this post. So, start posting and tweeting my blog post, FB it, Blog it. Just get me those Happy Birthday comments! I want to feel loved on this my 30th Birthday! :D Not that I don't feel loved already. :)
XOXO

Keep Crossing Fingers

It's Friday, y'all. Isn't that great? I think it is. This week has been busy. Lots of things going on. The big thing is I had a birthday. Thank you all for wishing me a Happy Birthday. That was really kind of you to stop by my blog or Twitter. Also, the place I work at won the Organization of the Year Award. We have a supercool, but very heavy plaque gracing our office now. I get to go to lunch tomorrow with a friend. That will be fun, not only because I'll be with my friend, but we're going to my favorite restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory! Bring on a slice of a beautifully delicious cheesecake! Oh, I went out to eat with another friend the other day, too.

So, onto some business. With deciding to change the ages of my book's characters brings about a great deal of rewriting. It is sort of like starting all over again. Daunting, huh? While I was editing last night, it dawned on my that it is gonna take a while to work through changing the dynamic of the characters. Some scenes I have to completely throw away. Argh! I thought it was going to be easier. Nope, I was wrong. I do know that it is going to make it a thousand times better. This is when I tell everyone to cross their fingers so that I can pull this off. I hope that I never do this to myself again. Hehe. I probably will, though, and that's alright.

So, have you ever had to start over writing a story? Have you thought of a different angle that would improve it? Were you afraid that your original story would be better than the new idea?  How did you go forward and write without getting discouraged?

What I've Learned Wednesday: My Special Day

For todays "What I've Learned Wednesday," I'm going to place all the attention on me. I want to be published author, so I may as well get used to all the attention. Right? So what I've learned is before you even get published, you need to get you name out there. So, social network! Yah, for blogging and Twitter. I've met lots of nice people through it. And my name is out there, even if it's just on a small scale. Why I am saying all of this?

Because today's my birthday!!! I'm the big 29! So exciting!

So as a birthday present to me, I want at least 50 comments on my blog telling me Happy Birthday! It would be nice to get at least 20 new followers, too! hehe Bring on the cheers of happiness on my day! Make 'em creative, kids. (Kids = term of endearment) Please, make my head bigger than it already is. No, really, I have a big head. It's the King curse. hehe.

Thank you! Or written in Chinese 謝謝
