Well, guys and girls, I'm really glad I'm posting my goals on my blog. It's helping me to accomplish them. I'd suggest you do likewise, for sure.
Well, here's how my month of May goals went:
Go on a much needed vacation to Washington StateCheck and CheckGive myself some R&R for two weeks before I doing anything related to writingCheck. I did get sick the week I was supposed to start editing again, so I technically took three weeks off. But then I had a bout with editor's block (writer's block but only when editing). I'm finally back in the game now.Read The Goddess Test by Aimee CarterCheck and Check. I loved it so much that I've already finished its sequel, Goddess Interrupted. My holy crap, this series is incredible. Read it! Now!Catch up on blog commentingCheck but this is an ongoing goal.
Here are my Month of June goals:
- Read The Mortal Instruments: City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
- Complete an edit of my wip: BOUND
- Hand off BOUND to one more round of betas
- Beta a friend's book--Ashley, I'm so proud of you!
- Continue forward with my no sweets diet. I've done 12 days for 21. Woot!
- Exercise three times a week
Writing. Jewels.
You're on track!
ReplyDeleteI'm participating in BuMoWriMo in hopes of knocking out a large portion of my next book.
I've heard about BuMoWriMo. I'll have to participate in that next year. For now, I'll eagerly await NaNoWriMo! I was a part of the fun last November and actually finished a book in the month. Nice. Well, Alex good luck with your writing. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
DeleteSome great goals there. I got about 80% through with City of Fallen Angels (which I thought was going to be Simon's story and not just a continuation of Jace/Clary angst) and quit. I have no interest in reading further. But I am enjoying to steampunk Shadowhunter stories.
ReplyDeleteI'm only a few chapters into COFA. I like the storyline, but am worried it is going to be a little too steamy for my liking. But I can skip over those parts. My sister finished it and loved it. I'll see how it goes. I like the Steampunk genre. Don't think I could ever write one, though.
DeleteKeep on writing!
That sounds like you're definitely on track. I like the cover for Cassandra Clare's new novel. WB from your vacation.
ReplyDeleteI could definitely be better with being on track. Ugh! This poor body of mine just gets so tired. But, alas, I push through. :D
DeleteI have two major goals in June: (1) edit SHARING HUNTER, YA novel; (2) write curriculum for a church camp I'm involved in. If I get those two done, I'll be in good shape!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your goals, Julia!
I have all faith in you! You can definitely accomplish your goals! You are the other half of Julie and Julia, anyway! :)
DeleteA vacation to Washington eh? As an Oregonian, I inevitably approve of this.
ReplyDeleteThis month is going to be crazy, and it's all related to writing! Camp Nanowrimo, Editing, Betaing for others, all that great stuff. Oh, while doing the freelance work. Well, this is what I signed up for when saying I would be a full time writer. Good thing we love it!
I don't think we drove through Oregon. Probably just Idaho. I love Oregon. So pretty. Yep, it's sure good we love writing, huh? Good luck with all your goals! You. Can. Do. It. Break!!!
DeleteLooks like some great goals, and you've already gotten some crossed off? Fabulous! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cortney! Yep, gonna keep on crossing goals off my list. Have a great weekend! :)
DeleteIt sounds like you're doing really well with your goals! My plan is to keep writing/editing. I've almost finished writing all my blog posts for the month. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm editing for clients right now, but I'm also trying to revise two of my own books this month too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with client editing and your own, Kelly!
DeleteGood luck with your goals this month! My plan for June is to make the last of the edits to my WIP and get my query letter/agent list together so I can start sending it out in July. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for querying. You can do it. Woot!
