Author Interviews. Crazy, Huh?

I'm sort of tripped out. Why? I've had two people over the past couple weeks ask me to do author interviews. I never really thought I'd be in the position where people would be asking me to do interviews. Crazy, huh?

When I was a kid, I dreamed about being an actress because I wanted to be in the movie Twister (I wouldn't have been very good at that--I stink at acting). I also wanted to be an astronaut (that aspiration came about cause I loved loved loved the movie Apollo 13). Those were careers that could have offered interviews. But they would have definitely never panned out to anything for me, though.

Anyway, now I'm actually doing interviews. Feels so odd to me. Well, today on my writing friend's blog I've done my second interview. Her name is Kristin L. Thetford. She is super amazing. Click on her name to read the interview. I tried to make it entertaining, not bland but laced with my personality.

If you want to check out my first interview, it's on my writing friend/CP's blog (the lovely Jamie Corrigan). She has been so supportive, and I appreciate her a lot. Likewise, click on her name to read it.

I do feel pretty sheepish sharing these with you but hopefully there will be more to follow. That will mean I'm becoming an established author. Although, I hope they don't all come all at once. I don't have enough time for that.

If you've done interviews before, how did you feel doing your first few? Or what was your favorite question you've ever answered? Do you answer with silly answers or serious or a mixture of both?

Or, ya know? I just shared two things I wanted to be when I was a kid. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?

Writing. Jewels.

  2. Wow, I'm glad I met you before you got all big and famous. I've always wanted a job where I could do multiple awesome things like underwater welder, art museum curator or interplanetary geologist.

    1. Methinks, Rob (and I'm just saying--don't want to burst your bubble) but underwater welding may not work. I'm trying to wrap my mind around the idea. haha I've wanted to be a museum curator, too. You should definitely go for the interplanetary geologist. Perhaps, you could write a dystopian novel, weaving in some of those facts. Super cool idea!

And I'm glad I met you, too. And I'm not famous. Well, you got to read my book in its beginning stages. It sort of sucked then. haha Sorry you had to read the messy blob. :)

  3. I did one interview, actually. Not as an author (obviously), but as a blogger. Yeah, another blogger wanted to interview me an her blog and just talk about how awesome the Fantasy Casting blog is. Weird, huh? I mean, I was flattered and all, but it was... uh... surreal. I guess that's the best word. I was like, "Who the heck cares about me?" I'm gonna go read your interviews now!

    1. Yeah, it is very surreal. I'm just me. That's all. Who really cares to know more about me. haha To be honest, I'm really boring. :) Thanks for commenting, girly!

  4. Julia, my dear. I don't really have anything in particular to comment about on this post exactly, though I must say how proud I am of you. I just wanted to say hi because I love you and I miss you. I see you walk past my little corner of the BA building and I wish I could tell the student I'm counseling to just "wait! My friend is walking by and I have to smile and wave and run out there to give her a hug!!!" but I don't think my supervisor would like that very much.

Keep up your good work, my friend. Even though we don't get to hang out very often, know that I think about you and pray for you and hope things are going well! Much love!

    1. Sarah - You have made my night. Dear beautiful words. I always want to kick the student you're talking to out and chat. Darn them. At least we get to say hi through a smile. Thanks for everything, prayers, thoughts, and well wishes. Loves and hugs right back atcha.
PS: We really should do something soon. :) Epic love story night--hint hint nudge nudge.
